Expo Reclam strengthens its position as a business center in southern Europe

This tradeshow, which closed on February 2nd, has left a major imprint in the sector as it once again revealed its significant influence as a major business event in southern Europe for the advertising and promotional gifts sector. Expo Reclam was a meeting point for some three hundred exhibiting companies and seven thousand professional visitors, coming to see the latest for their summer campaigns.
This tradeshow was held at about the same time companies publish their updated catalogues introducing and launching new products. As to the profile of visitors, regarding their activities, 29 % were advertising agency representatives, while there were 28% coming from businesses in the corporate and advertising gifts sectors, and 13% corresponded to companies specialized in labeling clothing. 12% belonged to the graphic arts and 11% were wholesalers while 2% were distributors. As to their place of origin, 89% were Spanish and 11%, foreigners coming mainly from Portugal as 76.9% of visitors came from that country.
National representatives of the planning committee, Reed Exhibitions, promoted the participation of foreign companies. Most were Italian, with 19 stands. 10 came from Portugal, 7 from Germany, 4 from France, 3 from the UK and 3 others from Turkey. There were also Belgian, Dutch, Swiss, Danish and Polish companies. Expo Reclam also included a number of parallel activities including a comprehensive programme of intensive courses designed as training crash courses for professionals in this sector. Among the many proposals, hi-tech electronic products stood out, as was the case with MP3 players. Digital printing was represented by the latest machinery and technologies. The desktop elements sector was also important, as was the textile gifts area. Food gifts is a sector revealing there is still room for growth and great potential.
Expo Reclam 2007 was declared an International Business Tradeshow, so exhibitors had both duties and fiscal benefits. Reed Exhibitions Iberia has also reached agreements with Fyvar, Aimfap and Ifema, to promote and support this event, while preventing it from being open to end consumers. Ifema, Institución Ferial de Madrid, has specifically stated that as from 2008 Expo Reclam will be held in Campo de las Naciones. The excellent results of this very recent event show that the significance of Expo Reclam in the future will be still greater, and especially so if we take into account that in Spain and Portugal the sector of promotional, advertising and corporate gifts means volumes of about 1,500 million Euros.
