First business master’s degree in technological innovation and textile techniques

Aitex, the Textile Technological Institute, has just launched the first Textile Business Master’s degree with the aim of providing companies with personnel qualified to set up innovation strategies applied in product development, in the technological field, as well as in design, organization, logistics and marketing.
The new master’s degree is aimed at university mid or upper graduates and experienced technicians. Aitex is committed to getting the students who achieve the degree placed in the job market.The course will last from February to July, with a total of eight hundred and thirty hours of study which suppose two hundred hours of practical work at the Aitex laboratories dealing with Physics, Chemistry, Geo-textiles, Reaction to Fire, Protection Equipment, Comfort, Ballistics, Intelligent Textiles, Medical Textiles, Automotives, etc. They
will also carry out practical work at the research and development pilot plants of the Instituto de Electrohilatura, working on thermo-plastic fiber extrusion, nanotechnology, laser treatments, atmospheric and low pressure plasma, coatings, laminates, intelligent labels, etc. The course includes attendance at the main trade fairs of the sector and participation in technical workshops.
According to the director of Aitex, Vicente Blanes, “This first Textile Business Master’s degree course is a unique opportunity to cover one of the main needs that textiles companies have in order to compete in the globalized marketplace, incorporate into their teams personnel with adequate training and the abilities necessary to implement innovation, not only in products and processes but also in design, organization, logistics and marketing.”
Preparing for the future Aitex has, for some years now, centered most of its researches on the subject of technical fabrics, since their multiple applications cover all sectors, from agriculture to building or medicine.
