This company located in Asturias manufactures ribbons, tapes and special complements, basically for the clothes-making industry sector. All products in their extensive catalogue are wholly made at their own facilities, where the company has hi-tech equipment.
L’Orbayu’s recently published catalogue features more items than on previous occasions for they have expanded all product lines. Manuel Morillo, manager of this company, explains, “The most widely sold products are, without a doubt, elastics for cuffs and hems, zippers, Velcro tape, buttons and labels, mostly for the workwear manufacturing sector”.
Among other items on their new catalogue we find ribbons, cords, zippers, elastic, trimmings, embroidery and serigraphy, yarns, badges and lining materials.
Their ribbons sector includes Velcro tape, bias binding, velvet, satin, reflective colours, loops and many other items in several qualities and sizes. Their cords are available in various materials: cotton, braided cotton, polyester, polyamide, round, flat, elastic, braided and filled.
As to trimmings, there is an extensive range of products, especially regarding buttons for shirts and workwear. Zippers may be metallic or injected, with a choice of runners that may be customized. Elastic are available in several types as well: crocheted, plain, printed, bi-colour, fantasy, terry cloth, ribbed, antislipping, braided or lace-style.
Manuel Morillo also talks about the novelties: “For labels and badges we can offer various models: serigraphies, digitally printed on vynil, relief or embroidery. And the fabrics we use are mostly bio-degradable or vegetal, though clients also order luminescent and reflective materials. Our elastic cuffs are flame-retardant and anti-shrink and may be perfectly used for welders’ workwear items. Our latest novelty is the digital equipment for bias bindings, so we can market tailored products”.
The manager also informs that 90% of the orders placed are for customized items, in accordance to clients’ needs. “We cannot compete in prices against products imported from the East, so we really make the most of our position as manufacturers, serving special orders even when small, and offering clients endless alternatives in all product lines”.
In fact, Manufacturas L’Orbayu has invested in new-generation equipment, so they can develop innovative products and offer clients multiple choices for all lines.
