A bias ribbon with a cord, for use on the outside or inside of textile items, the new proposal by L’Orbayu

L’Orbayu have made an addition to its extense range of products: it is a new bias ribbon that will meet specific needs in the clothes-making sector.
The new bias ribbon may be used to ornament textile items or clothes on both the inside and outside. As opposed to bias ribbons which up until now the company’s catalogue featured, this one is folded and has a cord with a diameter of between one and ten millimeters.
The new bias ribbon with cord is available in up to sixty different colours, including plain ones, checkered, with stripes and bi-colour or tri-colour combinations. The company also foresees the possibility of clients supplying the fabric of their choice. In order to manufacture this new product L’Orbayu have had to adapt several machines, especially as to the distance between needles.
Manuel Morillo, manager of L’Orbayu, comments on the possible applications of this new product, “They are so many and so varied that our clients are included in different fields of the industry sector. These bias ribbons will adapt to clothes, underwear and swimwear, in addition to mattresses, umbrellas and upholstery. On clothes, they may be used on collars and pocket lapels, and on linings for a better finish. You may make hems, cuffs, and so many other things”.
According to their various possible applications these bias ribbons may be manufactures in polyester-cotton, satin and other fabrics, for it is not the same to ornament a wool robe or a piece of underwear. The catalogue also includes ironed bias ribbons, while the manager points out that in the case of swimwear, bias ribbons are delivered prior to the dyeing process, so that clients may use the colour of their choice. Manuel Morillo tells us that the launching of the new product is their answer to the queries and demands of clients
